When importing data into Pipedrive, some fields can be more complex to map, particularly multiple option, address, and phone type fields. This guide will walk you through the advanced mapping process for these fields.
Mapping Multiple Option Fields
Ensure the multiple option type custom field is already created in your Pipedrive account. Learn more about custom fields here.
To map a multiple option field:
- Map the main field (e.g., "Group Number").
- Click on the mapped field to expand it.
- Individually map each field option from your spreadsheet to the custom field options in Pipedrive.
Mapping Addresses
You have two options for importing addresses: separate columns or a single field.
1. Address Fields in Separate Columns:
- Create your spreadsheet with different address fields in separate columns.
- Map each Pipedrive address field to the corresponding column in your spreadsheet.
2. Address in One Field:
- Add the full address in one field, separating each part with a comma.
- Map the general address field to this column in your spreadsheet.
Pipedrive uses Google's Geolocation API to geolocate addresses. Ensure your addresses are formatted correctly. Learn more about address formatting here.
Mapping Phone Numbers
To map phone numbers:
- Add the phone numbers in separate columns if you have multiple numbers for a contact.
- Map the phone field multiple times.
- Click on the pencil icon to assign a label (e.g., Work, Home, Mobile, or Other) to each phone number type.
By following these steps, you can ensure your data is accurately imported into Pipedrive, maintaining the integrity and organisation of your information. For further details on advanced mapping, including mapping multiple option fields, refer to this article.
