Flowbird Turns 11

Eleven years ago, in a modest garage transformed into an office, the seeds of Flowbird were sown. This humble beginning echoes the origin stories of giants like Google, Amazon and Apple, all of which started in garages, symbolising the birthplace of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. With a wink and a nudge, we acknowledge our garage genesis, sharing a lineage with these behemoths not just in humble beginnings but in the audacity to dream big. 

Angie and Jason Rainbird, with nothing but passion and vision, embarked on this adventure, crafting Flowbird’s nest in that very garage. Like many legendary companies before us, our story unfolds with that same blend of ambition and makeshift office space, reminding us that the most extraordinary journeys often have the most unassuming starts. 

The garage years were pivotal, a testament to creativity thriving within constrained spaces. However, as our dreams expanded, so did our need for space. The move to Repton Manor in Ashford marked our first leap into the world beyond the garage. Our new “office”, affectionately dubbed more of a cupboard than a workspace, became the incubator for growth (it was roughly the same size). It was here that Emma and Gavin joined the fold, becoming instrumental in Flowbird’s journey and embodying the essence of our expansion. 

As the Flowbird family grew, the walls of our first rented space began to feel closer, prompting another move within Repton Manor. This time, our nest welcomed Rebecca, unknowingly introducing our future commercial director into the mix. Each addition to our team was a step towards our evolution, a blend of serendipity and strategic growth. 

The advent of COVID-19 tested our resilience, as it did for the entire world. The pandemic forced us to abandon our office, leaving behind a space filled with aspirations and memories, uncertain of our return. Yet, the spirit of Flowbird, much like our namesake, soared above the challenges. The pandemic era was a testament to our adaptability and unity, hallmarks of our enduring ethos. 

Returning to Repton Manor post-pandemic felt like a homecoming, yet the ever-present drive for growth nudged us forward. The transition to Cobbs Wood House and the subsequent game of musical offices reflected our dynamic nature - expanding, contracting and expanding again in response to the needs of our team and our business. 

September 2023 marked a significant milestone: moving into the Epps building, our very own space. It’s a testament to our growth, our journey from garage to a space we can finally call entirely our own. Yet, true to the Flowbird spirit, we’re already eyeing what’s next, outgrowing even our own expectations. 

Throughout this journey, our mission has remained steadfast: to revolutionise CRM, helping companies acquire, engage and retain customers. As technology has evolved, so has Flowbird, honing our expertise, defining our offerings more sharply and gathering the best minds to push the boundaries of what’s possible. 

Our story is one of humble beginnings, resilience and relentless pursuit of growth. It’s a narrative woven with the threads of innovation, teamwork and the unyielding belief that from small beginnings come great things. As we celebrate our 11th birthday, we look back with not just nostalgia, but also gratitude. 

In this remarkable journey, our most profound gratitude extends to our wonderful customers.
